2025 Afreximbank Group Internship (Fully Funded)

Eligibility

  1. Educational Background: Applicants must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programs at recognized institutions, preferably in fields such as economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, engineering, or related areas.
  2. Nationality: The program is open to nationals of Afreximbank member states, students of African descent in the diaspora, and non-African students whose vision aligns with Afreximbank’s mission.
  3. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English or French is required, with knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese considered an advantage.
  4. Age Requirement: Candidates should be between 20 and 32 years old during the application year.
  5. Additional Applicants: Other candidates may be considered upon approval by the President of Afreximbank.
  6. Exclusions: Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible for this internship program.

Benefits

  1. Financial Support: Interns receive a monthly stipend of USD 800 and a housing allowance of USD 400 to help cover living expenses.
  2. Travel Coverage: The bank will cover reasonable return fare transport costs to the internship location from the intern’s educational institution.
  3. Accommodation: Interns are provided with hotel accommodation for one week during the induction period.
  4. Visa Assistance: Relevant residence visas will be arranged for interns if required.

Deadline

Applications for internships are accepted year-round, with opportunities available twice a year—starting in January and June. However, only a limited number of candidates can be accommodated in each cohort.

How to Apply

To apply for the internship, candidates must complete an online application form and submit the following documents:

  • A letter of application
  • A current CV
  • A valid passport copy
  • Certified copies of relevant academic certificates
  • A recommendation letter from their educational institution
  • A short statement of intent (maximum one A4 page) detailing what they hope to gain from the internship

Successful candidates will need to provide proof of medical insurance and personal accident cover valid in Egypt before commencing their internship. Interns will engage in a comprehensive induction process and will rotate through various departments during their placement.
